Ferro Tungsten
Ferro tungsten is mainly composed tungsten and ferro. It also contains manganese, silicon, carbon, phosphorus, sulfur, copper, tin and other impurities, as the alloying agent in making steel. According containing different amounts of tungsten, tungsten iron divided into: FeW75 (containing W70% ~ 80%, C ≤ 0.20%, P ≤ 0.04%, S ≤ 0.08%, Si ≤ 0.5%, Mn ≤ 0.25%) and FeW80 (including W75.0% ~ 85.0%, C ≤ 0.20%, P ≤ O.04%, S ≤ 0.08%, Si ≤ 0.7%, and Mn ≤ 0.25%) two kinds.
Ferro tungsten used as adding agent for tungsten element in steelmaking and casting, tungsten is one of the most important alloy elements in production of special steel. Tungsten can improve the strength and toughness of steel, but also improve the hardness and wear resistance of the steel while almost no reduce the elongation of the steel. In addition, another particular importance is that tungsten has good effect to improve the high temperature mechanical properties of steel, it can improve the heat resistance and tempering stability. The most common method of producte ferro tungsten is "plot block method", namely to reduction the oxide in tungsten concentrates in the electric furnace carbon , and then removed from the solidified metal product blocks from the furnace. Other methods are digging iron method and aluminotheric method. Ferro tungsten is a statutory inspection of goods.
